Gus and my sister Jayme went to grad school together. We met one weekend while I was visiting and stayed in contact over the years. After dating for a while we went to New York for my birthday. After having brunch at Tavern on the Green, we took a walk in Central Park. Gus proposed on the one quiet rock he could find.
We wanted to give our out of town guests a true DC experience so we chose the Carnegie Institute of Science with it’s Neo Classical design and great view of the city. We went with a simple, yet sophisticated theme with black, white and a splash of pink for our colors. For our favors we went with a candy bar that incorporated our color scheme. The best thing about the day was that all of our family and friends were in one place at one time.
